Established in 2020, the AIJA Women Network is a global community of AIJA members committed to supporting and advancing women’s careers in the legal profession.
Our main goal is to leverage the strength, experience and international reach of AIJA members to foster professional development, visibility and meaningful connections among women in the legal sector. We pursue this goal through dedicated events, webinars and networking opportunities, both online and in person, around the world.
Each year, the Network also organises dedicated retreats for women lawyers, which are particularly important and distinctive moments in the Network’s activities. These retreats provide a confidential and dedicated setting where participants can strengthen personal and professional relationships, openly share experiences and challenges, and support one another in the development of their careers. They offer a unique opportunity for meaningful exchange, mutual support and the consolidation of long-lasting connections within the AIJA community.
Members share information, experiences and opportunities through a dedicated WhatsApp group, while the Network also provides updates and promotes its activities through social media and the AIJA website.
In collaboration with the AIJA Women Network and Diversity Officer, AIJA has also adopted the Long-Term Leave Policy for AIJA Officers, an official governance policy designed to ensure continuity, transparency and support when an officer is temporarily or permanently unable to carry out the responsibilities of their position.
